A Big Welcome to Our Mining Services Manager, Rob

December 16th 2022

We’ve appointed Rob Gallacher as our new Mining Services Manager.

Rob, who lives in Selby, North Yorkshire, has a number of years of experience in the mining and power station sectors and in managerial positions. He’s got a passion for all things mining and will work with his team to deliver the goals of the company.

We asked Rob to answer a couple of questions so you can get to know him a little better.

What qualifications do you have?

I have a BTEC National Diploma, IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate, and BSI Lead Auditor – ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management.

What’s your background/what roles have you done previously?

I have had a number of roles in managerial positions and as a health and safety advisor. I was Operations Manager at Drax Power Station, SHEQ Coordinator at Drax Power Station, then I moved on to being an International Business Coordinator (Mining Services).

My other roles have included Outage Shift Safety Coordinator, Health and Safety Advisor, and Facilities Support Manager.

What will you be doing in your new role?

In my new role, I’ll be providing recruitment services to the mining services team, ensuring compliance across the board. I will be managing the training and development of mining services personnel as well, which is something that I’m looking forward to. I’ll also be organising logistics and onboarding, to ensure internal compliance with the CRM system.

Why did you choose to join the company?

I chose to join Brownlee Cale because after having researched the company, it became clear to me that it was a company going through a period of growth.

By securing investment to create and develop a Mining Services Consultancy Division, it seemed the right time to get involved in its infancy and I was certain that I had a lot to offer and the drive to help the team deliver on its longer-term goals and objectives.

Having the opportunity to come in and work under a manager who is so well respected within the mining sector internationally also allows me to further develop my knowledge and skill set, which will hopefully be of benefit to the business moving forward.

What interests do you have?

I’m a football fanatic and a big Leeds United fan (coming from North Yorkshire). Outside of work, I like to stay fairly active and I’m a keen golfer. Other than that, I love socialising with my friends and family and organising trips to go travelling and visiting new places.

Welcome, Rob, we’re thrilled to have you as part of the Brownlee Cale team!
