Warehouse Operative
Our client has a requirement for two Warehouse Operatives to assist picking and kitting components within the warehouse. This role will work closely with other warehouse operatives to meet deadlines to supply the valve assembly line and regional aftermarket orders. A flexible approach to working additional hours would be desirable. The Warehouse order pickers primary contact is with the Warehouse supervisor regarding workflow related issues and questions, CSR’s (Customer Service Representatives), Shipping, Service functions (Commercial), Supply Chain, customers of the Warehouse (Operations managers and Supervisors – Site). Also working with external packing companies on large contracts to make sure that SLQDC is adhered to.
Required to Maintain a safe work environment.
- Implement daily production schedules to meet the monthly and annual production goals/metrics by kitting in line with requirements.
- Ensure that product is packaged and stored within the storage location safely and to meet quality criteria for product item.
- Coordinate to keep the Warehouse Supervisor abreast of requirement needs and schedules.
- Required to pack for regional partners and customers ensuring delivery expectations are met, through priority of delivery dates.
- Ensure that You have all the correct PPE also materials required to perform the job functions, i.e.: pallets, cartons, cases, packing supplies, slings, etc.
- Work closely with Shipping on packing and schedule requirements.
- Help and support cycle counting to ensure stock accuracy.
- Normal day shift working, but with a flexible approach to overtime working.
- Required to be Flexible to work within the other departments when required.
- To populate shipping documents including some photographs
Useful/Desirable:
The Warehouse order picker must have previous experience in a warehouse environment and must be Computer literate. Must be familiar with and have a working knowledge of how to pick components in line with work orders. The safe operation of all the equipment used in the warehouse operations including but not limited to, forklifts, pallet trucks, hand tools, etc. Good interpersonal communication skills are required.
Qualifications
- Qualifications in Warehousing and Logistics would be beneficial but not an essential requirement for this role.
- Safe operation of all the equipment used in the warehouse operation, including but not limited to, forklifts, pallet trucks, hand tools, etc (FLT licence etc)
Working hours are Mon – Thurs 07.15 – 16.00, Friday 07.15 -13.00 inc break and Lunch.
Candidates must be able to attend interview in person and will be subject to a pre employment medical and Drugs and Alcohol test prior to employment and must be physically fit.
