Training Supervisor
Our valued client, a leader in the mining industry are looking to recruit a Training Supervisor for their site in North Yorkshire.

General Duties:
- Conduct Training needs analysis in collaboration with all stakeholders that develop and deliver competence.
- Develop Competence maps for all workstreams and levels to define the required standards and maintain the Competence Management System
- Deliver training programs where competent to do so and arrange with third party providers where required.
- Schedule training programs that meet operational delivery plans and have minimum impact on operating performance
- Ensure that training aligns with the Safety Program and conducts Training Audits at projects, offices and in the workplace.
- Design, revise and assist with the administration and auditing of training programs
- Support field Safety & Training Supervisors as a resource.
- Advise senior management on matters relating to training
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to staff and client information

Working Conditions, Physical and Mental Demands:
Working Conditions
- Part of time is spent in an office environment; most of the time is spent making regular workplace visits above and below ground.
- Exposure to deadlines, multiple demands, distractions/interruptions.
- Understanding the major mining hazards, the underground environment such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise, and fumes.
Physical Demands
- Regular visit to the shaft sinking activity areas and the associated arduous environments
- Underground visits require physical activity such as walking on uneven ground, climbing, and the wearing additional personal protective equipment
- You will be required to pass a Safety Critical medical examination.
Effort
- Must be ITR literate and able to operate computer, respond to inquiries, present information, read documents/materials, resolve conflicts, problem solve, facilitate meetings
Qualifications:
EducationRequired: Qualifications in Training/Safety
Experience of delivering and facilitating and delivering training in either Mining, Quarrying or Civil Engineering
Preferred: PTTLS equivalent in Training
Work Experience:
Required: 3 years’ experience in a Training capacity
Preferred: 5-10 years’ experience in mining with training experience.
Experience in the development and delivery of health and safety training programs and procedures.
