The Company

Brownlee Cale are currently recruiting on behalf of a Principal Contractor in the North East who require a Freelance Site Manager due to increased workload.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working as No 1 on Construction sites valued up to £5million in value. 
For this particular role we are looking for Managers who have extensive experience of client facing roles and building pre-cast concrete framed structures.
 
The Role

You will be managing a project from inception to completion as No 1 on site reporting into the Senior Contracts Manager.  Responsibilities will include;

• Managing the programme and making changes where required
• Managing all Sub Contractors & Trades & Labour on site
• Procurement of Labour & Materials
• Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with all specifications
• Oversee and enforce a high level of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental processes
• Produce RAMS
• Hold tool-box talks and Inductions
• Report progress and issues to the Contracts Manager on a weekly basis
• Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
• Communicating professionally with clients and their representatives 
• Resolving any unexpected challenges and issues
• Take responsibility for ensuring the project is completed on time and to budget

The Requirements

Suitable candidates will have the following attributes;

• Experience as No 1 on Build projects valued £5million for the Principal Contractor
• Proven experience of overseeing & managing technical and design issues and managing the programme.
• Professional manner with experience of liaising with the client
• BSc in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or a time-served trade background
• Excellent communication and I.T. Skills
• SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS

Remuneration

This is a temporary position to cover a project with a duration of 6 months, the rate would typically be an hourly rate of £28.00 per hour.
