Health and Safety Advisor
North East Salary Dependant on experience + Car allowance and Excellent Benefits
Our client  by a major, award winning, civil engineering Contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor to operate across their project sites in the North East area. This organisation is a leader within the industry looking to further grow the existing team. The successful candidate will be working across a range of projects, as such, previous multi-site experience will be beneficial Of particular interest are those candidates who have worked on water and civils schemes.
Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor will include:

  • Implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to legislation
  • Visiting site and engaging with managers, ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical Health and Safety related enquiries. Ensuring site activities are compliant and safely undertaken.
  • Conducting safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in Health and Safety performance
  • Engaging with the client and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:

  • Experience in a similar role ideally within construction, Civil engineering or Utilities – Candidates with experience in the water industry are of particular interest.  
  • Hold a NEBOSH Certificate and ideally a member of IOSH
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Role is offered on a mix of site visits and hybrid working
