Electrical Mine Craft Operator

Our Client a leader in the mining industry is looking to recruit for a number of experience Mining Electrical Engineers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive “can do” approach, be conscientious and hard working. A flexible and willing approach to working hours and deployment is absolutely essential. A continuous improvement mind set is a fundamental requirement with the focus on achievement and performance. As well as maintenance work, there will be a need to operate the underground equipment to a high standard alongside the mining and mechanical operatives. The tasks on which the appointee will apply the continuous improvement tools will involve all aspects of the mine operation. These will include Professional Maintenance on all of the underground mining equipment. The post will report to a Team Leader, Shift Manager and ultimately the Mine Production Manager.
Experience/Qualifications:
Candidates must have undertaken a recognised electrical apprenticeship and would ideally have several years’ experience installing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment. HNC qualifications are desirable but not essential.
Experience of L.V. and H.V. systems and associated Permits to Work would be an advantage. An understanding of PLC and SCADA Control systems would be helpful.
Coming from a Mining or quarrying background would be advantageous but is not essential.
The position will be a 4 crew shift pattern of 8 and 10 hours duration, involving 24 hour 7 day working including bank holidays. Full co-operation with the present Banked Hour and absence cover requirements is mandatory and meeting future contractual terms is a given.
